Excessive heat loss from system

I have a Systemate III system installed in my flat, and the heat it gives out into the room seems particularly excessive and has made the whole flat unbearably hot during the recent hot weather. It also means the system is calling for heat from the boiler very frequently as presumably it keeps dropping below temperature. A recent plumber visit determined (with the help of the Gledhill helpline) that the settings are reasonable (water temp at max 68deg C, min 61deg C).

Despite this, the ...

Hi
Can I connect my micrturbo 402 sealed system boiler directly to the heat-exchanger of my systemate 111 in order to provide just one shower per day and no other hot water demand ?This would avoid keeping 115 l. of water at over 70 degrees for 24 hours per day.How would I get a pcb that would manage such an arrangment ie would switch on the boiler and pumps in response to the drawing of hot water?
Please can you advise.

I have a systemate III and teh boiler keeps cycling even thougth the temp on the store seems to be hot enough. It cycles on for a few seconds. Goes off then about 30 seconds later will cycle again this happens a lot.

The readings from the lcd are

On - off - store - phe - dhw if that is correct i have taken these readings when its cycling

First of all let me say what a great forum it has been very helpful in understanding how these units work.

I have an issue in that my hot water is very hot to the point it could scald. Is this to do with the mixer valve not being set correctly as my hot water store also seems very hot and it has dried out one of the plastic covers on the top within 7 months. I know it could have been a faulty cover but the store does seem to be very hot or do they not have a temperature control is it set ...

Dear Mike
My systemate 111 is powered by a microturbo 402.
It is 9 years old, and because of a leakage from the cylinder, needs to be replaced.
Should I get a torrent or a boilermate - they both look functionally the same to me, or is there any other make of thermal store that woul do.
The boiler is a sealed sytem.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My mother moved into an apartment about 2 years ago and during the summer of 2008 was unable to get the hot water taps to stay hot. I was visiting the UK at the time and experienced the same. When you turned on the shower, the water would be hot but within seconds and sometimes minutes it would go completely cold. The radiators all worked fine and were hot.

She had a contract with British Gas and they sent an engineer (a glossy title for what I saw). The guy had no idea what he was doing ...

The water pressure to my Systemate iii tends to drop to zero over time (can usually tell because you get a sound like whalesong in the pipes!).The last time I called a plumber in, I noticed that they turned one of the two black taps near the base which fixed this immediately, but I can't remember which one. Is the smaller or bigger one?

I have a Systemate III 83 & I noticed at the weekend that the pressure was at 1 bar I topped it up with the tap & found it had dropped back down to 1 bar with in 20mins, never done this before.

I did this when the heating was off (I don't think its mattered before) I was concerned if this meant there was a problem with the system? I have hot water & heating and no leak that I can see.

I am in a flat & the sysem is 12years old so a little concerned as I am top floor.

I have a Gledhill Systemate III connected to Maxol Microturbo 405/505 Gas boiler (no immersion or other input).

The problem I am currently experiencing is that when the system is switched to central heating the voltage from the tank to the boiler drops, and hence the fan stutters, the boiler won't fire and goes into fault mode. When on water heating or tank heating, the boiler runs, but intermittantly fails due to the same voltage issues.

I have had a couple of engineers out, and ...
