Hi,

I took off the two element caps a few days ago to adjust the thermostats and turned them up to maximum. I got up this morning and found no hot water and the red fault light on.

I can't tell if the green light is on too, as the bulb is very, very dim. But the circuit board green light isn't on (behind the metal front cover).

Do you think this is from over-heating? Or any other matter. I am happy to have a go at minor adjustments, but as it is a privately rented property if anything ...

I wonder if you can help. The hot water from my pulsacoil 2000, is very limited, one shower and the water runs luke warm. The timer is on cheap rate setting from midnight till 6am.

I have followed instructions on this site (which is a great help, thanks for setting it up!!) and have found the following things.

1. the header tank was empty-so filled it

2. the pump seemed weak so took off the cap and although on the 3rd setting was sending out a weak jet.

Hi all,

Have just recently moved into new flat fitted with a Pulsacoil 2000. Not had proper hot water for about two weeks and have been trying to troubleshoot on the net.

Having read the posts I looked at the tank on top of my boiler (it is fitted with a floating ballcock) and found it is completely bone dry. Can I just check - is it ok to fill this up with water?!?!

I am obviously not a boiler expert...

Following this there seems to be a problem with the green light not being ...

I am not getting any hot water from the on peak boost from my pulsacoil 2000.

The off peak works ok but if I use up all the hot water I don't get anymore hot water if I try using the on peak boost supply.

The green light is on, the red light on the board is flashing 2 per second meaning no errors i believe.

Please can you advise on what the problem might be?

I have had alot of parts replaced on this boiler over the last 2 years and seem to get a fault every 6 months or so. ...

I have an ongoing problem with my pulsacoil 2000, the neutral cable connected to the off peak immersion heater appears to be overheating as when i go to use the shower or taps there is no hot water and upon investigation the cable is brittle and broken away from the connector, with the insulation also melted, i have stripped it back and re-connected but this only works for a period of time.

A few months ago my Pulsacoil 2000 boiler broke down (again!). The guy came out and changed the overheat rod at the base of the boiler (green base, metal rod, item 1 in the gledhill manual) as well as the sensor (think it was the PHE sensor).

Anyway my boiler was running fantastic then broke down on Saturday. I've become quite familiar with them so I investigated. I noticed the pin at the base of the rod had popped out. So I switched off the heater, using a nail I pushed ...

I have already checked the thermal store (plastic tank above bolier) which is over 50% full and the circuit board LED indicates that the system is working normally.

However, one thing ...

Our new-build flat in west London (about six years old) has a Pulsacoil 2000 boiler. For the past couple of nights, at around bath-time, it's refused to provide any hot water at all. By morning, the hot water supply has returned.

Here's my other problem; I know about the existence of a "boost" switch, but there are three switches in the airing cupboard and I don't know which is which. My experiments with trial and error, leaving each one off overnight, have not yielded anything. ...

in the last week my hot water has pretty much ceased, and is now down to lukewarm only - unless i use the boost. Spoke to a heating engineer today who told me that the manufacturers of Pulsacoil 2000 have gone out of business, no parts are avaibale and that i should just get a new water heater - is this really the case ? Or is there still a chance to save this one ?

If it can be saved - any recommendations of an engineer in the Leicester area ? Am i looking for a plumber ? Or electrician ...

Hi,

I have the same kind of problem I see other people have mentioned on the forum, not enough water in the mornings for two showers and then no further hot/warm water for the rest of the day.

Today I have run the boost for three hours straight this evening and still do not get any hot or warm water from the taps.

I guess I would like to know how benefical the boost button can be? Does it have the potential to heat the whole tank to a level where I would be able to take a shower ...

I have just moved into an apartment with a pulsacoil 200 water heater (APC2025)

This week the red LED has come on twice, i called an engineer out the first time and he said because the system is in an airing cupboard it was too hot and the system was tripping. Today the red LED has come on again, and i can only assume it is the same problem, even though i have had the airing cupboard door open.

Would i be correct in what i am thinking? In which case i need to get the upgrade kit from gledhill.

Hi Mike
I have a pc2000 and have only cold water from the hot taps. I do have hot water in the store but the heat exchanger is cold. The pump is not running and i am only getting 42v to the pump in intervals of 2 seconds. The LED on the main PCB is flashing twice every 2 seconds.
Could both the temp sensors cause this problem.
Many thanks

Hi, i have a pulsa coil 2000, 140l. From the off-peak i can have a shower first thing in the morning, sometimes 2 depending on how quick you shower. I am then left with no hot water for the rest of the day, maybe a luke warm tap at best. I can boost and that gives me some hot water for another shower or two.

Both thermostats are set to MAX.

Green light is not on the front of the boiler but this may be the bulb.

Red light on circuit board is flasing twice, normal

It does seem to heat ...

Hi I have recently moved into a new property with a Pulsacoil boiler. There are two switches on the wall, one is the red switch and the other is (I think) the immersion switch. Firstly I was told that the immersion switch should be on for one hour only to boost the hot water. This was done but then the hot water ran out! I was then told by an engineer that the switch (immersion) needs to be on consistently, all the time in order for constant hot water to be received. Is this true and is this ...

I have just moved into an apartment as a tenant, the hot water for showers and taps is provided by a Pulsacoil 2000 boiler, the rooms are heated by electric heaters.

When I arrived at the property, I asked the agent for a manual for the usage of the boiler. She said to use google, which is how I came accross this site. There is a sentence about in the tenant guide for the property- "Either one or both switches can be used for hot water, these can be found on the wall next to the boiler."
