Help - Need to replace Pulsacoil Tank Empty Help - Need to replace Pulsacoil Tank

Post  DeeMarie Thu Apr 19, 2012 5:29 am

We have had problems recently with our water tank - a 210litre pulsacoil. We haven't had 'proper' hot water in a couple of weeks, initially it would run hot for a minute or so then run cold.
After having a couple of visits from plumbers / engineers we've decided to replace the water tank.

Unfortunately this is where we get stuck : not sure what to replace it with , we have had people say unvented ,vented, direct ,indirect, etc etc and now we are not sure what we need.

The flat has no central heating (storage heaters), no gas and the water is mains gravity fed. Another thing is that my pulsacoil has two electrical elements; one using peak day time electricity and the other runs off the off peak night time electricity; and a mixer valve.

Any help is most gratefully received.
Will look at all options sent ..thank you.

Donna

What unit is it?
Sounds like a Pulsacoil BP unit.
2 heaters and a mixer valve.
If it is can not see why the change?

We are looking at changing it only because no-one we've called has the faintest idea how to fix it (or what is even wrong).

Can anyone recommend someone in the West London area who might be able to help us?

It's been over a month now without hot water and it's getting very tedious having to shower at the in-laws, and wash up with boiled water from the kettle
