HELP still not working hotcoldhotcold Empty HELP still not working hotcoldhotcold

Post  andy 1st Call Heating Sun Jun 17, 2012 2:11 pm

I have been and still am having a nightmare with a pulsacoil 2000.
After intermmitant fault causing water to run hot and cold I was advised by expensive gledhill technical to replace the pcb AND both sensors!

Once these were fitted still not right! So I spent a great deal of time watching the unit and caught the pump sticking. So replaced pump and all worked fine for one day!!!!

Now hot cold hot cold water! I have changed everything now and lost for ideas I expect the owner thinks I'm taking the mick!

Please help any ideas welcome

I've had a couple like that.
You could try draining the unit down using both drain off's.
Remove pump check valves and single check.
Remove any sludge / debris.
Did you use the genuine pump?
Not the normal 15/50 or similar?

Hi thanks I did use the correct pump I'm wondering if there may be somthing restricting the puimp as you say. I will try and have a go at taking the pump out and checking the valves.

Thanks for reply

Thanks for the advice

I decided to investigate all the pipework around the pump and wow it was furred uip after a scraping session and cleaning job all went back together and it worked.

I did add inhibitor to the tank during filling to try and prevent this happening again I think this was never done by the original builders!

Thanks again

Well done.
I will also add;
Always check the pumps are in the right direction.
I recently worked on a BM II and one of the pumps was the wrong way round!
That was also in a state inside.
