Towel rail Circuit

Post  neilybhoy on Thu Apr 02, 2009 7:54 am

I have a Gledhill Boilermate 2000 installed in my house. The unit does not a have a timeclock fitted, but is controlled via a remote timeclock. This timeclock can switch on the heating twice a day, but at present the boilermate seems to run during the day on the towel rail circuit (outwith any times I have programmed). How do I stop this happening?

Difficult. It seems likely that you also have other external controls hence the external timer, hence the towel rads running all the time as the Boilermate has been set to run all the time to make heat available to the external controls. NOT recommended! Alternatively, external controls may have been fitted to overcome a common fault in the BM control board that leaves the CH running 24/7. I think you need to get someone competent in to diagnose this.

The simple way though is to just turn the rad valves on the towel rads OFF!

Cheers, Mike
