Boiler Over Heat Thermostat keeps Tripping
Hello,
My 9kw boiler element keeps tripping , the instructions suggest its either 1. boiler pump is faulty 2. Control thermostat on PCB is faulty or 3. System is air locked.
I can confirm that my boiler pump is working and was working prior to the system getting to hot and the boiler overheat stat tripping. Diagnostic check turns on the boiler pump and the 2nd LED turns on on the PCB.
Now the documentation suggests the control thermostat on PCB. I cannot see where this is located on the PCB, the documentation does not provide any information \location on such a stat.
Can someone shed some light on this for me if possible? The PCB is approx 3 weeks old, I spoke to Gledhill tech line, he suggested that the board needed to be commissioned or System air locked.

Re: Boiler Over Heat Thermostat keeps Tripping
Hi Sash
The Electramate range require someone who understands it correctly to work on it. Please be very carefull if you are attempting to carry out repairs to this unit as it utilises both 240v and approximately 37Amps.
You say that the pcb is only 3 weeks old, can you confirm that the new pcb is a GT155 HEX version as there are three versions of the GT155 pcb depending on which version of Gledhill unit you have (GT155 HEX is correct for your 9kW model).
The thermostat settings are controlled via the sensors around the unit and the software on the pcb, and all new pcb's need to be commissioned to match the model they are fitted to.
It is possible that the boiler element is continyuing to run after the pcb has told it to shut down, and this would result in an overheat fault, although it would require further testing to establish your problem correctly.

Hi sash
have you tested the relays yet? , sounds to me, one of the relays is bypassing voltage to your element.
