Display not working. Fuse?
Hi,
I know pretty much nothing about boilers so am hoping that this is an obvious and easy fix...
I moved into an apartment last month and the boiler had been operating without any trouble. This morning however, there was no hot water. I went into the cupboard to check the timer and noticed that all lights were off and that the time display was blank. I have checked the RCD unit and the line had not tripped (power was still on for the boiler). I have tried turning the switch at the RCD and the immersion switch (below the boiler timer unit) off and on but the display remains blank.
Do I need to replace a fuse? If so, what kind of fuse do I need and how do I do this? If it's not the fuse then what could it be?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,
I've looked through the forum but none of the topics sound like they cover my exact problem (blank display/non-active timer) and the promising sounding ones I opened were not the same issue. Could you point me in the right direction?

Re: Display not working. Fuse?
Well you needs to check from the source of supply.
Check all switches and timers.
Check and test any fuses.
The rod stats and heaters can be checked with a tester.
You may have a reset trip (post on here ref those)
Or you may have rod stats with reset buttons (same post as above.
There is a fuse in the PC 2000 unit.
It is located on the pump drive board.
But I doubt if that is your trouble.
If the unit is hot it could be.
You have 2 heaters. On peak and off peak.
Are they both not working?
Have you removed the cover and looked at the unit?
All the above is simple and easy if you know how.
But I would advise if unsure or what have you to get someone in.

Or Google up for Gledhill repairs, PC 2000 etc etc.

Check the fuse spur
Hi,
Check the fuse spur supplying the timer. Make sure there is a supply going into the timer. If there is but your timer is blank, it is more than likely going to be the timer that is faulty. I would check also for signs of leaks at the immersion or signs of burning as these have been known to damage timers when they short circuit.
Hope this helps
