BoilerMate 2000 Emergency Controls Empty BoilerMate 2000 Emergency Controls

Hi all,

My Glow Worm Ultima boiler has just packed up (diagnosed as a PCB fault) but I have the BoilerMate 2000 which has the emergency hot water and central heating manual controls. However, these are not working.

The BoilerMate PCB was replaced a couple of years ago as it had blown. Until today the heating system had been working fine (as far as I know).

Does anyone have any ideas of the possible fault with the BoilerMate and potential cost to fix it?

I'm not that bothered as the BoilerMate works OK in normal operation i.e. in conjunction with the boiler. But if not likely to be too costly then may have it repaired in case of any future heating problems.

Thanks in advance of any reply.

First ,I would check the obvious, have a lock if the fuses (25A) for your switch is inserted, most installer left them in a back , hanging from the Fuse carrier. this is no problem as long you use the normal Gas operation from your Gas Boiler, bud..... if the Gas Boiler stopped working ?

Thanks Mario, I have found two fuse holders behind the front panel and each contain a 25A fuse as you suggest. I will check that the fuses are good and replace if necessary.

However, if they are OK then what?

Thanks.

take the front panel off, left , next to the PCB,
switch the power to the Boilermate off first !!!!
have a lock in your installation manuel !! 2 Fuse holder to pull out 25A
the Back with the fuses are strapped on the Fuse holder ( factory set up)

you need a multi meter to test both immersion elements on your switch, if no continuity, means faulty, new switch Boiler required, or if ok, may the switch pcb, ( both are bigger jobs, may you hire a gledhill specialist for this)

you then need a new Switch Boiler for Boilermate 2000 ( XB341 ) and / or Switch PCB ( XB386), for replacing the switch Boiler, you need a part drain down, the switch pcb is behind the control Knob on the panel ( the silver one )
