Hi there,

I am hoping someone may be able to assist with the following. We have a Boilermate 2000 system which is now 10 years old. The water has begun to fluctuate ranging from scalding to freezing cold. The pump seems to have trouble firing up, its seems to be trying to get going but not able to actually kick into action if that makes any sense. Also when the heating / water comes on at about 6am the whole house is woken by a crazily loud crashing and banging , clunking noise coming from the unit it appears.

Our local plumber has no knowledge of the Gledhill units.

Can anyone make ay suggestions please as to what the fault may be, we have considered new heat sensors and possibly a new pump.

Many Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a few problems.
Sludge or blockages for a start.
DHW pump not working, is there a voltage present then?
The check valve under the pump could be sticking.
Would suggest draining unit and checking that it takes water from the header tank.

Since my last post, we have had no heating whatsoever. The boiler fires up, the green light is on for a few seconds then begins to flash.

We are using the emergency heating.

An engineer came out today, he says the boiler is fine and the problem lays with the Gledhill tank. He says he is 99 % certain that the problem is the " circuit board". He says there are no readings on the circuit board. He left the house at 9am today, supposedly going to check his findings with his boss as he isnt familiar with the Gledhill System and call us back within two hours, but have heard nothing so far. I am reluctant to order this new part as he seems so unsure if that is the problem.

In the meantime, hubby has been away so he will go through your check list above this evening when he returns.
