I understand that you can use a standard Grundfos 15/50 pump head for the boiler & heating pump replacement but can you use for hot water as the Gledhill XB004 pump from Gledhill is much more expensive. I have had varying responses from Gledhill technical re this and when they were called out to do a fixed price repair on a unit with a 15/50 fitted as the hot water pump the Gledhill engineer said it was OK and wanted to leave it on, it was only when i to;d the customer to insistit was replaced as their own technical department had told me it had to be XB004, that they changed it.

Just noticed that Keep The Heat on are selling a Gledhill GT089 Modulating Pump (A Class) UPR15/50 as a hot water pump for £125.73 ex VAT & Advanced Water list a XB004 for £164.83, Post £8.50 both +VAT, but with a photo of what looks like a 15/50 on the web page as pump is Red not silver (cant read details on pump data badge)
