Reset on E7- using peak electricity? Empty Reset on E7- using peak electricity?

Post  marcm Wed Jun 05, 2013 1:35 pm

Hi,

I have a pulsacoil 2000 connected to an economy 7 tariff which heats the tank between 1am-4am. However, recently the unit has started tripping on a daily basis (meaning no hot water), but works fine after a manual reset. My question is when I reset the unit at say 6pm will this heat the water at the peak rate or was this indeed done fully during the off peak period? I am going to call someone out when I am off work in a couple of weeks and in the meantime I m ok doing the reset every day, but not if its costing me a load in electricity!

Thanks

First , there are 2 immersion heater, one for the Boost ( and only operating if you switch it on) the other, ( bottom) Immersion is for Off Peak only and becomes only functional if off peak is present. So consequently, if you re-set your boiler and not switching the boost on ant any time, there will be only off peak electric used to warm the tank up . Peak electric is only used for the pump and PCB to function ant no off peak times.
I hope this helps

Reset on E7- using peak electricity? Empty Confirm what is tripping

Post  sunny.sahdev Wed Sep 11, 2013 3:07 am

If your overheat stat is tripping, check the water level. If it is the thermostat rod and not the the fuse at your spur or at your fusebox, check for signs of leaks on. If it is your spur or fusebox fuse (MCB) tripping, check again for signs of leaks or burning at your element.

If you are not 100% sure you are using your system correctly, I would recommend you request a self check guide for free via this link: Pulsacoil 2000
