Element warning light flashing

Post  Mike Sweet B on Tue Apr 28, 2009 2:31 pm

Having a bit of a problem, our A Class is producing less and less hot water, so would assume scaled up heat exchanger, but the top element also operates and then cuts out after a short period of pushing the black button. the warning light then flashes to indicate "element failure"

Which is the most likely, please? Element or heat exchanger?? we live in a hard water area. there is no sign of water or limescale around the external part of the element....

Header tank is filled to correct level. :-)

I know this post is late and you have probably had the fault repaired already but just in case:-
The flashing red light on the front doesn't mean that you have an element failure. It simply indicates to the customer that there is a fault. The exact problem area can be identified via the system control board inside the unit by scrolling through the fault code history.

The Pulsacoil A Class is still a young unit, and with a 2year warranty still being honoured by Gledhill, I would advise you contact them and get them to check it out for you.
