Hi,
Need urgent help / advise.
Moved into new house last month. It has Boilermate2000 + Potterton Suprima.
All seemed to fine until yesterday when the Hot water suddenly stopped working. Tried my best to read/understand through manuals and online forums but still no luck. Before I call a service engineer, i want to make sure it is not a simple problem that does not need to call an engineer to visit.
1) Switched off the boiler overnight and switched ON; Put the room heating to permanent ON mode.
2) Potterton Boiler fired and stayed ON as long as Room heating is ON
3) Opened the front panel on the Boilermate2000 and found the LED display has top two bars ON and a DOT flashing at the end.
4) all 3 LED lights were ON and GREEN.
5) No hot water still. Room heating OK.
6) Turned the emgency hot water switch mode = ON, it made loud noises (literally like banging/crashing). Still no Hot water.
Need urgent help as kids are home and it is half term too.

Note: i am new to this type of units. so, please excuse my ignorance.

kind regards,
Srisris

First thing to do is check the unit is full
And that it takes water from the top tank (F&E tank)
Look on here under the BM 2000 posts that has been covered in depth

It is now fixed. It was due to hot water pump that was stuck. The plumber has come and took less than 2 minutes in fixing it.
He just rotated the pump anti-clockwise and Bingo!!
I would now try to get this (Boilermate + potterton Boiler) covered under some annual maintenance contract. I cannot take any risk on this 10 year old unit.

Thanks Mike for your repsonse. Good to know that there is somebody out there who cares for others problems.

Hi,
My advice / recommendations still apply.
You must check that the unit will / can take water.
And when checking you will see if the water is brown (sludge)
Sludge is a major problem with thermal stores as it tends to collect with in the unit.
Read through the posts on here ref BM 2000's
