Permanent live.
I am an OAP who has just had an Ideal Logic boiler fitted. This boiler requires a permanent live to the pump that is in the Gledhill Boilermate 2000. The installers want to run trunking through ceilings and walls etc an idea that I am not keen about.
I have e-mailed Gledhill to ask a simple yes/no question which was "Can this permanent live connection be made through the existing wiring?" Gledhill have refused to assist by saying yes or no but keep referring me to their exorbitant technical help 0906 number.
All I need to know is, can this 'permanent live' be made to the boiler using the wires that are existing and used to work perfectly well with my Ideal Classic boiler?

Re: Permanent live.
It sounds like your Classic had;
A switched live
A neutral
And an earth.
So yes the installers need to upgrade the wiring.
