CHANGE OF TEMEPATURE

Post  os0dgi on Wed Jun 17, 2009 9:58 am

Hello, The pump was recently replaced by a local plumbing company but we have the problem with the temparature of the water which changes between hot and cold. The company which replaced the pump says that it is the corroded 'back plate' which needs to be replaced. Another company, however, said that the replacement pump - Grundfos 15/50 domestic hot water circulation pump, Red colour- is wrong one and that is the cause of the temparature problem. I am very confused and it would be great if you could give some advise on this. Thank you!

Hi os0dgi,

The pump you have is the correct pump, but unfortunately it did not need to be changed. The corroded back plate on the old one would most definitely NOT have caused the symptoms you describe! It will be a failing DHW heat sensor.

Cheers, Mike

The pump

The pump may not be correct. Grundfos supply a range of 15-50 pumps but more specifically you need a 15-50x18 pump.
