Does the water leave the unit?

Post  Baz on Mon Oct 26, 2015 8:11 am

Hi,

On a Boilermate SP, when the heating is on, is it the thermal store water that travels round the heating system, into the radiators etc? The diagrams seems to suggest the water never leaves the Boilermate, but it simply heats a sealed coil inside which is connected to the heating circuit.

If it is the thermal store water that travels round the radiators then if I increase the boiler pressure am I not in danger of over filling the boiler mate?

No the thermal store water stays in the unit.
It goes through the DHW plate heat exchanger to heat your hot water.

The heating water goes through a coil inside the unit and is heated by the store water.

So the store has to be filled.

The heating you know.

There is cold mains water going into the PHE.

Upon leaving the PHE goes to the hot taps.

Just various areas / parts doing the own things.
