Hi Weldwizard

There are a couple of possibilities dependant upon which model of expansion tank you have.

1] If you have an expansion tank connected to the mains via a ball valve and float, the problem could be either a dripping ball valve washer or a punctured float, and these should be checked before you go any further and involve yourself in high charges that may not be needed.
If both of these are ok then the only possible cause is that the domestic plate heat exchanger is faulty (allowing crosss contamination between the waters).

2] If you have a manual fill model (one without a ball valve that has to be filled via a hose etc.) then the only possible cause is the domestic plate heat exchanger.

If you're in my area and need it rectifying just get in touch.

pulsacoil 2000expansion tank Empty Plated heat exchanger

As long as you don't have a ball valve dripping away, then I would say it is more than likely your plated heat exchanger is damaged and letting water through it.
