Pulsacoil 2000 replacement? Empty Pulsacoil 2000 replacement?

Post  kristeva Sun Oct 01, 2017 7:13 am

Hi

My apartment is due to be sold (subject to paperwork, etc) but my Pulsacoil 2000 is leaking and needs replacing. Can someone recommend the cheapest replacement option, and / or a company local to me (Woking, Surrey) that can do the work?

Any thoughts appreciated.

Thanks.

P

Bit late in replying.
Gledhill have a replacement Pulsacoil Eco stainless steel
Mike

There are other thermal stores on the market.
But the Gledhill looks the smartest.
Google up thermal stores
Ask a few local guy or girls

Pulsacoil 2000 replacement? Empty EcoStainless

Post  JeremyD Tue Oct 10, 2017 4:12 pm

Hi Mike
Great forum. I've found it very helpful repairing my Pulsacoil 2000 over the years.
My Pulsacoil is now nearing the end of its life. Have you had any experience of Gledhill's Eco Stainless range?
Any advice much appreciated.

Hi
Yes I have fitted lots of them.
They have 2 heaters with stats.
A flow switch
Some sensors
A plate heat exchanger
And a pump which works on pulse wave modulation
Hence the Eco.
Lots of insulation.
1 small PCB
Can have scale protection to.
Near enough a straight swop.
Some slight pipe alteration
Electrics the same as PC 2000.
Mains pressure hot water & open vented.
So all good.

Thanks Mike. Any idea of the design life of these stainless steel units and what goes wrong? Do the cylinders and immersion heaters weep after a while, as with the copper Pulsacoils, or has that problem been solved?

Most Gledhill heater last a long time
Compared to other heaters.
They do a lot of work.

Stainless steel is supposed to be good. We will see.

As with anything full of water.
Make sure it is fully supported
Consider the weight when full
1 gallon of water weighs 10 lb
