New ups2 pump settings

Post  lenny21 on Mon Dec 18, 2017 5:05 pm

Anyone know what the settings are for ups2 pumps for a Boilermate 2000. Feeling proud I have just fitted two new pumps to my Boilermate and a new pcb. Many thanks to Murray Martin who I got the pcb from can not recommend Murray enough gave me great advice and was such a gent. One question tho has anyone had any leaks from the metal casing it’s self on the bottom left as mine after fitting the new pumps had a little water leak from the base of the unit and the left hand side of the unit and casing is quite rusted and corroded. I’m hoping it sees me through winter. But feeling quite proud as a single mum with limited diy skills I fitted two pumps and four valves. Not the hot water pump the other two.

Pump setting are normally set on 3
But try on 2.

Bad news if rusty at the bottom.
You could try leak sealer has a stop gap.
1 bottle to every 100 litres.

So the unit might be 125, 150, 180 etc.

Any of the above I would use 2 bottles

Then add another bottle for every 10 rads

Thanks Mike it’s stopped leaking so I’m wondering if it was condensation as the unit had been down a few days whilst the repairs and pcb board arrived. It’s stopped now which I find strange. I think it’s time to investigate replacing in the summer as the bottom is pretty rusted and I don’t think it’s going to last much longer think it’s been rustling for a long time by the looks of it.

The pumps automatically went onto 3 so I’ll see how they fare it’s amazing though we don’t even hear them come on. I’m so proud of myself I’ve only ever put curtain poles up or replaced the toilet flushes. So renewing two pumps and valves and the he pcb still doesn’t feel real. For a single Mum. Just shows we can all achieve if we put our minds to it. Only been researching it two years lol.

10 rad = 1 bottle
16 rads = 1.6 bottle

Plus the unit litres of course!

Thanks. Will it be on the unit somewhere as to how many litres it would hold as not sure we were given any kind of documentation when we bought the house

Yes label inside

Or look in book and measure the height of your unit.

Compare it to the ones in the book
