No Hot Water : Replacing the Oventrop mixer valve Empty No Hot Water : Replacing the Oventrop mixer valve

The valve failing is one of the reasons why you may not have hot water even though the Central Heating is working well.  Another reason could be limescale build up within the coil before the valve.

One way to check which is as follows.  Put your hand on the pipe to the right of the valve and run the hot water.  If it goes tepid/cold within 10 seconds then it is the valve that may have failed.  If it is hot for a while before going tepid then there may be scale inside the coil.  Check the BM II PDF User Guide for detailed fault finding tips.
