Hive or nest?

Wanting to fit a hive or nest to the boiler mate 2000. It’s linked to an ideal classic. I’ve bought a hive but not got anyone in to install it yet. But looking on the smart devices that you can use to control them the hub will only work with nest . Is nest as good as the hive? I’m contemplating sending this hive back and investing in the nest. But If hive is more compatible and better for use with BM I’ll stick with it and not add it to the other smart devices. I’m trying to get with it and get so that using smart devices for security etc. Any advice appreciated.
