Boilermate 2 thermostat tank drain req? Empty Boilermate 2 thermostat tank drain req?

Do i need to drain the tank before removing the tank thermostat. The silver wire disappears inside the insulation, does the thermostat just pull out and fitment is reversal of removal?

If the thermostat is the XB117 then usually with this type the bulb at the end of the tube is inserted into a dry pocket in the tank, they can be a simple push in or on some systems they may have a retaining clip. https://www.keeptheheaton.com/products/44527-gledhill-xb117-thermostat
