hey all

great forum by the way, just moved into a new flat and there was a great supply of hot water and the underfloor heating seemed to be working fine. then the heating started to get a little mind of its own....now the water is cold....so i thought what a good time to have a look over the boiler....open the cupbord and see a sign that says if the red light is on there is a problem, if both lights are out there is a problem....so i get onto the landlady and say there is an issue she calls back with oh there is a reset button. im happy go off to find said button and nothing....read on here (great site again by the way) fill the tank up you moron....so i take the hole cupboard apart as there are so many shelves in there i dont think there are numbers high enough to count them all....fill it up and now im waiting.....still no lights, noise from tank etc and the PCB light seems to be doing the wink wink break wink wink break thing........am i being stupid where should the reset button etc be, after looking at some of the images on the web it looks like im missing the hole reset power type board.

if there is anything that i have missed please feel free to call me a muppet and let me know.....my shower depends on it

many thanks
Gary!

Hi Gary,

If your re-set button is missing then the appliance has been fitted with dual-function thermostats in the heater elements.

The overhest re-set is now on the thermostat head under the big black plastic heater head covers. It's a tiny black button between the two electrical connection screws, the size if a match head. Press it in with a biro and if it clicks (just the once) it was tripped and will now work. Check this on both heater elements. Turn the power OFF first if you prefer not to be electrocuted.

Cheers, Mike

thanks for the info mike, i took off the black covers and sure enough there was the little green bit with the black reset button, the top one was popped out and the lower one was set in so i pushed the other in and sure enough it started to sound like a kettle

its really great to see that people are still happy to help others with no financial gain, i tip my hat to you sir and thank you.
