Manual operation of controls blows a fuse

Post  tarka999 on Wed Feb 04, 2009 1:33 pm

After having a problem with my Boiler mate 2000 I rsorted to using the manual overide knob on the front panel. However this has the result of blowing the small internal fuse FS3 5 amp. Replaced it and tried again. Same thing. Any help would be appreciated

Hi tarka999,

The fuse blowing is usually caused by water ingress into a pump motor. I suggest checking the pumps extremely carefully before replacing the fuse, and replacing any pump with evidence of water marks around the control box, because this fault usually blows a triac on the control board instead of the fuse!

The water orginates from the pump isolating valves which leak.

Cheers, Mike
