Continuous water flow Empty Continuous water flow

Post  kajko168 Wed Jul 21, 2010 2:19 am

Hi. My Pulsacoil 2000 is about 7 yrs old. Last year I called a Pimlico Plumber to sort out my irregular hot/cold water issue, he just bypassed the thermostat sensor wire in the pannel and problem was solved. He did mention that this may couse the boiler to have a lil shorter life, but still was the best way to go for.

NOW.... for the last few months I can hear a continuous water flowing within the boiler, day and night, even if no tap is open in the flat....

I wonder if that means that the water is getting pumped in ... and continuously beig expelled through the drainage. Is that possible?
if so, is there a way to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Kajko,

Check to see if your overflow pipe outside is continuously running, then check your expansion tank to see if the ball valve is shutting off the water supply.

Post your reply and we can go from there!

Continuous water flow Empty empty!

Hi Gary

Thanks for reply!

As you asked: The overflow pipe appear to be running water continuously... to my amazement I found the expansion tank with only a inch of water.....

Ok, I just filled the tank to a normal level and the noise stopped all together with the overflow pipe.

Is that a chance that this "tank emptying it self" may keep happening?

Do you recon the water that kept running was staying in the boiler or was going waisted trough the drainage? If so my water bill will be huge =/

Thanks again Gary

My Regards
