Unstable Hot water
The hot water delivered to the taps varies condsiderably sometime cold sometimes exremelt hot. The storage water is o.k. After various tests I have decided to try replacing both sensors although the red light flashes normal. The sensors in my unit do not have a brass or theaded parts . What part numbers do I require (are they identical)?
Thanks in advance

Re: Unstable Hot water
Hi ERN,
Yes the dry pocket sensors are identical, part number GT146.
Cheers, Mike

Re: Unstable Hot water
Hello Mike,
I did not mention that the pulsacoil is at my sons home therefore I cannot monitor things as I would like.
Anyhow I fitted the sensors & things seemed o.k although water seemed a little on the hot side.
My son now says he sometimes needs to run the water for 10 minutes before the pump kicks in & he get hot water. The old sensors were held in with what I presume to be a heat sink compound how important is this.
Thank

Re: Unstable Hot water
Verrrry important!
Buy some from Maplin and use it on the top sensor. The lower sensor (PHE return) does not need it. If there is still a ten minute delay then I'd be considering changing the pump. Test for AC voltage supplying the pump whilst waiting for HW. If present then a new pump is indicated.
I take it you've checked the header tank is full first though?
Cheers, Mike
