lack of hot water volume Empty lack of hot water volume

Our Systemate III is some 9 years old and works perfectly EXCEPT that there is never enough hot water to fill a bath. As we normally shower this is not a daily problem but a bath is impossible. We have the pump on high permanently as some sensor has failed. This means that the hot water is hot and powerful to our shower room and kitchen but is never anything like enough to have a bath. Where should we be looking?

Please somebody help us. Hot water pressure at the taps is high - don't reckon scale is a problem. Enough (and instant) very hot water for showers and at the kitchen sink. But half-fill a bath and the water runs cold. Turn off and wait (too long) and the water is hot again. Could it be a faulty blender valve? In case your opinion is affected, we have to run the plate heat exchanger pump on fastest permanently as the switching bit of the control has failed. Space heating fine.

I would advise you get a local engineer to take a look at it! You will find one on the homepage.

Thanks for all your interest. Discovered that our problem is (sort of) solved if we run the bath slowly - not ideal and should have thought of it earlier. The plate heat exchanger clearly cannot cope with the full pressure we have here.

im having the exact same problem with a 10 year old system. Problem started about three weeks ago, central heating is fine, as is a quick shower. however if i run a bath the water turns cold before the bath is half full?! Trying to find an appropriate engineer that covers the merseyside area is proving impossible!

any help would be greatly appreciated

If you are unable to find an independent local engineer Gledhill will come out for a fee of about £275 plus Vat and repair it. Check out their website.
