No hot water
We have a boilermate 2000 and have had no hot water for the past 4 days. No doubt, this is connected to a problem we had with a leaking central heating pipe. We called out a plumber who fixed the leak but had to empty the central heating water system beforehand. Whilst the leak was repaired and the central heating is now restored, we now do not have any hot water. Water is coming out of the hot taps but is cold. Water appears to pass through the boiler system but just does not heat. What could have caused this and how do we rectify? Thanks

Re: No hot water
That sounds remarkably similar to our experience. Our hot water came back itself, which I think points to an airlock in the heat exchanger or DHW pump - you could hear it sucking when running a 'hot' tap and only getting cold water out.

Re: No hot water
Yes this sounds to me as though the DHW pump is airlocked, or possibly one of the pump isolating valves is turned OFF. Can you feel/hear the DHW pump running when a hot tap is ON, even though it isn't pumping? (It's the right hand pump of the three.)
Try loosening the big silver screw in the middle of the pump motor while it is running. This is there for air-purging. Might all start working if you do this.
