Found a leak! What to do next?

Hi - I've just found a leak (a constant drip) from the base of a pulsacoil a-class unit. Its less than 4 years old, but I'm already quivering at the prospect that it might be knackered and need a replacement.... The hot water supply appears to still be working as normal, but don't know how long this will continue. Has anyone experienced leaks with their units and are there any checks/diagnostics I can do myself before calling someone out?

Have you taken the cover off?
If so look for a leak.
As in pipes / connections.
Be careful and remove covers to both heaters
Look around the heater boss / big nut even gently ease back the rubber gasket / seal.
Check the tank / pipe work / joints on top of the unit.
If you can find a leak then it may not be too bad.
Failing that the unit may be leaking.
Look on this site under advertisers for some one in your area.
Or google one up.
Ring Gledhill whom may pass some one on.
You may be g/teed for 5 years on the unit leaking internal.

I've taken the main cover off and on further inspection, the leak appears to be coming from the bottom (off peak) immersion heater. Assuming it is the immersion heater that is damaged, is this something that can be repaired or is it a sign of a terminal failure?

I'm assuming at this stage there is nothing further I can do, other than call out an engineer to repair?

I'm in a Barratt flat in Feltham, Middlesex.

How much would I be looking at for a replacement heater?

Heater approx £ 83.00p
Plus fitting
The unit needs draining
Heater removed new one fitted
Refill perhaps add inhibitor
Look on home page for repairer
