Problems with Gledhill Pulsa Coil

Post  Fido on Wed Nov 02, 2011 3:58 pm

Hi, we recently moved into a new flat and have had a few (to say the least) problems with our hotwater.

We were in bed, and there was a horrible whirling noise coming from the airing cupboard. My husband got up to check it, and there was water and steam everywhere. We switched the power off and called Gledhill the next day, who aren't particuarlly helpful.

Eventually we switched it back on (after topping up the water in the grey tank) and for a while it worked fine. Then the other day there was only enough water for a quick shower. Plus the water goes hot, cold, hot cold, warm, cold.

We called out a plumber who changed one of the heating elements. However its still not working well, and we don't really want to spend any more money as we're broke!!!

Is there anything we can do or check to save us another hefty bill?

Thanks,

Sue.

One of the sensors are gon on your boiler, the problem with the bubbling and steaming was most prob. From the F&E tank was empty, not topped up ?!

Hi Sue,

It most likely may be a sensor problem, but you did say shower not all taps and shower. If the problem persists only with the shower (but the taps are fine) have the shower cartridge replaced.

Also request a self check Pulsacoil mini guide which could point out something you haven't seen, the link is below.
