Can I fit a room thermostat?
Please bear with me, I'm new to this forum
Bought a Wimpey house (daft I know) and we have a Boilermate 2000 with s mechanical clock. All the rads have thermostatic valves but there is no room thermostat in the house. This leaves us the choice of either having all the rads on and using the clock to turn heat on or off or doing each rad individually.
My question is, can I add a wireless room thermostat into the system, and if so, how and where do I wire in the receiver
Thanks for your help

Re: Can I fit a room thermostat?
Yes you can.
And if you down load the book from Gledhill website (free)
It will tell you how.
I would recommend a Honeywell wireless stat.
Bit more moey but I find all Honeywell stuff good.
You will need a piece of 5 core heat resistant flex.
From the Boilermate 2000 to the receiver box.
You will have;
Live; Brown
Neutral; Blue
Stat wire; Grey
Stat wire; Black
Earth.; Green and yellow.
If in doubt get a good electrician and give him the book on the BM2000.
After fitting you can leave the clock on the BM 2000 onconstant.
And programme the heating from the stat.

I have this stat ECO ET3 RF
How do I wire this, I can see connections on the bottom of the master board labelled thermostat but the downloaded manual is unclear and I need your expert advice

Re: Can I fit a room thermostat?
After a night of thinking about the logic I connected to the terminal block as per the instructions on the stat and the boilermate.
ha, it's done, working and a nice warm lounge
Thanks for the help Mike, you made me work it out
