Electramate A Class Empty Electramate A Class

Post  sc25 on Tue Mar 17, 2009 3:17 pm

I've moved into a property which has an electramate a-class unit in and the electricity bills i've been getting seem very very high- is this system meant to be economical? Also, most of the time the hot water is used and whenever the heating comes on, the main unit starts up- is this meant to happen or does it signal a fault of some kind (and most likely the cause of the high bills)?

many thanks

These things are not cheap to run. Electricity is EXPENSIVE. Even if though the appliance itself is almost 100% efficient in the technical sense (i.e. wastes virtually none of the fuel it consumes), it is NOT 'efficient' in the sense the user expects, i.e. cheap to run.

Main cause of high bills are the user NOT being on Economy 7 tariff (essential!) and/or running the heating through the day. People who stay in and heat the flat all day generally have horrendous fuel bills with Electramates.
