Whistling pump! Empty Whistling pump!

Post  pmjaparki Sun Feb 12, 2012 4:08 am

We have systemate 2000 and were rudely awakened this morning by a loud whistling sound. When we removed the cover it appeared to be the middle pump which is the primary flow and towel rail circuit. It is noisy and running hot. The bathroom towel rail radiator hasn't worked for a while. Any suggestions? We have currently turned the whole system off.

Have you tried venting / bleeding the pump?
Could be that the pump has failed.

Is this an easy thing to do? Does it involve the screw at the front of the pump?
