Temporary solution - no DHW Empty Temporary solution - no DHW

Hi – can anyone advise?

Have a BMII with suspected leaking DHW coil as F&E tank overflowing hot water. British Gas coming to replace BMII with a Torrent + equivalent parts on 8th May.

Didn’t want constant overflow of hot water into garden, so for fist 2/3 days after BG diagnosed fault and ordered replacements, I ran the BMII intermittently - shutting down boiler, BMII and isolating cold water supply, then switching back on for 2-3 hrs either side of when needed in am/pm. This seemed to be ok, but suddenly today no DHW at all – not even lukewarm. Heating is fine, and F&E tank still red-hot (as is the drain tap at the bottom of the BMII). Don’t think mixer valve has gone, as cold on both sides of junction.

Any ideas? I know you’re generally supposed to leave the BMII permanently on with boiler to max. However is there a possible temp. solution that would ideally get us through to the 8th?

Thanks

AJ

Should be isolated any way.
Risk of contamination.
