what lenght immersion heater, TACTIC 571.1 PLUS
Hi,
I want to use solar power to heat the water in the BMII in the summer, therefore I was wondering what lenght immersion heater to fit. I was thinking of a 14" incalloy from Backer. I was also thinking of replacing the mechanical clock with a TACTIC 571.1 PLUS, as this would give me much more timing options, is that a possible replacement? (please see attached datasheet)
Thanks a lot for your help.
Best wishes Udo

You would be better to fit the Gledhill immersion heater.
Made for thermal stores.
Clock.
Look at the wiring diagram in the book.
Should not be a problem.

Dear Mike,
thanks for the quick reply. The problem with the immersion heater is that I need one with 1-1.5kw output, otherwise I will use more power than the actual solar PV output. I know it will take a long time to heat the water with 1kw, but I want to make use of the electricity produced and not necessarily heat it only with electric power. Do you think I can use the 11" or 14" immersion heater I mentioned before?
Your input is really appreciated!

Thanks Mike,
I guess 14" if possible, would give a better heat distribution?

Hi Mike,
I was wondering if you had any luck finding out whether the 14" immersion heater would fit my BMII.
Thanks for your help
