BM2000 not draining very fast Empty BM2000 not draining very fast

Hi,
I'm having to drain the system to replace the original pump valves as they are leaking from the closure screws.
I'm draining from the drain point above the boiler but it is just trickling out. I have removed the bleed screw from the cold feed expansion elbow on top of the unit to increase air intake. Is slow drain normal?
Thanks

I drained the system from a downstairs radiator.
