Pulsacoil 2000 triping out
Heater trips every morning before 8am with the red fault light coming on. Cold water only from taps. Once reset switch (after 8am only) is pressed hot water comes immediately and heater works all day/evening and provides hot water at night without tripping. Internal light flashes continuously showing both thermostats have "gone". This light is sometimes showing normal operation too.

Re: Pulsacoil 2000 triping out
This is either a failed immersion heater thermostat or a failed overheat protection thermostat. Eitherway, the fix is the same - fit a Gledhill thermostat upgrade kit. This replaces both immersion heater thermostats with new dual function thermostats and removes the old overheat 'stat.

Re: Pulsacoil 2000 triping out
Looks like I need the retro fit thermostat upgrade for my Pulsacoil 2000 as I have a red 'fault' lamp showing and this can be reset by pressing the 'manual reset' button. I just need to make sure I'm ordering the correct part: Could you verify this please?
I've gone to the following website:
http://www.keeptheheaton.com/acatalog/Gledhill_Pulsacoil_Spares.html
They are advertising....
Order Code: 117168
Gledhill MIP080 Overheat Retro Kit
Overheat Retro Fit Kit (PC2000)
Price: £25.36 (Excluding: VAT at 15%)
Is this the baby? Also any tricky bits on installation or other parts I need to order in addition?
Thanks for being there,
Viking, Gloucester

Re: Pulsacoil 2000 triping out
Yep that's the item you need. The only potential hiccup is the pockets in the heaters into which the thermostats fit. As they grow older they begin to leak, meaning new heater elements are needed too. A whole new level of work ;-)
