Hi
Thwere are a number of faults that could match the symptoms that you have described, but the most common two problems are;
1] The thermostat in the off peak (overnight supply) element has failed- usually due to either a faulty thermostat or due to silt/scale building up on the element.
2] The overnight electrical supply is not turning on as it should to supply the unit with electricity overnight.
You really need an engineer to trace the cause of the problem.
We cover the East Midlands, but if you are in a different area simply check for a more local Gledhill engineers with this link www.gledhill-repairs.forumotion.net/gledhill-repair-specialists-advertise-your-service-here-f20/

Re: Will only heat when boost on
That's good news.
If the engineer needs to replace the element(s), ensure that he only uses the genuine Gledhill elements. They may cost far more, but will last longer, be quiter, and will come with the correct safety thermostat.
