No Hot Water, Only Warm Water Empty No Hot Water, Only Warm Water

Hi,

I just moved into my new apartment on Sunday (20.02.10) with a PulsaCoil A-Class
On Monday when I wanted to have a shower I had no hot water only warm water
On Tuesday I had hot water from morning to evening (had a 20min shower in the evening)
On Wednesday I had no hot water but only warm water
Today I still have no hot water but only warm water. After some reading on the forum I toped up my tank at 16:00 today. (which was close to minimum).
What does this tank actually do?

The boost button on my tank does not seem to work. When I press it the red light does not go on. But when switching the boiler on and of with the green powerbutton the red light does a little flash, which indicates that the light is working, but not when I am pressing the boost button.

The display on the circuitboard says that everything is running ok.
Leftside
- on peak supply present
- S5 Sensor (bottom) calling
- Off peak supply present

- Flashing dot

Right side
- Off peak heater on
- DHW pump on

Readings I got at 16:30 today(24.02.2011) after filling the tank up 30 min ago.
I do not know what these numbers mean, could someone please look at them, analyse them and tell me what it is saying?
5.1/31 5.2/32 5.3/28 5.4/30 5.5/32 5.6/31 5.7/60
5.1/70 5.2/78 5.3/35 5.4/55 5.5/74 5.6/79
C.0-C.F = FF
c.0-c.F = FF

I have read from previous topics to check the off-peak immersion and that this should read 18ohms.
What is it and where can i locate the off-peak immersion? But anyway, I dont have a multimeter available.

To Recap,
I had hot water 1 out of 4 days
Boost button is not working
I refilled the tank today.

What might be wrong?

Hi Ricky,

It may just have been that there was not enough water in the store.

Check the store temperature reading again in about an hour and see if it has risen in temperature, if not then it could either be an immersion issue or sensor issue.

Kind regards

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your feedback.
Here are some new readings i got today:
5.1/32 5.2/33 5.3/30 5.4/31 5.5/33 5.6/32 5.7/60

Does this mean that my hot water tempeture is only around 30 degrees?
How come I got hot water on Tuesday?
How much will it cost to replace sensors or immersions?
Is there any point of me to have the boiler on? The motor has been constantly running since I filled it up on Thursday.

Thanks,
Ricky

Hi Ricky,

Yes your store is only reaching a tempertaure of 30 degrees,
What do you mean the motor has been running since Thursday?

Kind regards

Hi Gary,

What I meant is that the pump has been running since Thursday (i think).
The boiler is making noice, and when I place my hand on the pump, I can feel it vibrating and warm.
It seems like the boiler think that the water is not hot enough, and is constantly trying to increase the tempeture. (I think)
Do you have any idea of how much repairs will cost (estimate)?

Regards,
Ricky

It sounds like you have more than one problem, if the pump is continually running then there is an issue there as well.

What area are you in?

We would charge a £45.00 fee to come and diagnose it.
