Pulsing Pump on a Pulsacoil 2000
Hi there,
Recently fixed my friends system, he had not checked the water level in his tank and it had run dry. It caused the safety cut outs on the thermostats to pop so I reset them and topped up the water. The hot water started working again but I noticed that rather than running smoothly the pump seemed to be continually pulsing, is this correct or is this an issue with one of the sensors or the PCB? I thought it should be more of a smooth operation. Thanks in advance for your help

Hi,
Check what voltage it is receiving? if the voltage is oscillating then it could be a faulty pcb board.
Kind regards

Hi
Gary is quite right in his suspision that it may be the pump PCB, but in most cases like this, I find that it is the DHW sensor that is causing it (even though it sometimes doesn't indicate it with the diagnostic neon).

Hi guys,
I had a better look at it this evening and i'm pretty sure it's the DHW sensor now. The buzzing was the pump spinning at full speed when the error code is showing. The pump seems to be working fine and in the right position the DHW seems to work so it's probably a heat affected connection issue within the part. It's limping on for the moment and I've ordered a replacement so fingers crossed, i'll give you an update, thanks for the advice.

Just to let you know, I replaced the DHW sensor and it's now working perfectly. Thanks for all your help.
