Funny gargling noise in the Boilermate Empty Funny gargling noise in the Boilermate

Hi Mike,

Due to cold weather we have had the heating on for long period of time. We often hear like a garggling noise in the Boilermate upstairs - like the noise a boiling kettle makes... then there is a sort of water discharge that runs in the loft. Could it be that water is being lost from the small tank in the loft? Why does it make that noise? Could it be another Boilermate issue? How can it be repaired?

Thanks

yushal

Hi yushal,

This is a bit odd. Sounds to me as though your gas boiler downstairs could be running too hot, boiling even. Which make and model is it?

Cheers, Mike

Mike

The downstairs boiler is Glowworm Micron. There is a temperature knob on it and it's on MAX.

cheers

Funny gargling noise in the Boilermate Empty Gargling sound from Boilermate 2000 over the night.

Post  KrisG Sun Dec 18, 2011 4:39 pm

Hi Yushal, I have experienced exactly the same problem with my Boilermate 2000 in the past few weeks. My Boilermate 2000 makes this sound almost every night when the heating is off. The room thermostat is set on for 23C but the BM2000 timer is off. Firstly I can hear banging noise from pipes (connection between my Potterton Suprema in garage and BM 2000) and few minutes after gargling noise from the main pump inside Boilermate 2000. Is it because my boiler PS heats up water too much? I have my PCB and main pump replaced 7 months ago.
Mike, can you help? Many thanks for any advice.

KrisG
