CH has mind of its own! Boilermate 111 Empty CH has mind of its own! Boilermate 111

Hi there

I am new to the forum and have read quite a few of the topics to get a feel of what might be my problem. And it looks like the diverter switch/valve, however, this was supposed to have been replaced only 10 months ago (BG) Radiators are hot even though the Thermostat in hall indicates heating is off! also, taking shower extremely hot water and wont turn down!!!?

If the boilermate 111 is allowing hot water to feed to the radiators when no central heating is being called - does this mean that the boiler is kicking in more than it should to keep store at set temperature and thus using more than necessary energy ie higher bills?

thanks and appreciate any thoughts especially re my last point re energy consumption!

There could be air in the system or the non return valve on the heating/boiler pump is faulty
