Boilermate has to constantly be turned off/on to get hot water
Hi all,
I have a boilermate 2000. Recently I will get no hot water at all. However, if I turn the plug to the boilermate off, wait 5 seconds, turn it back on, I will get hot water.
I have to do this almost every time I want hot water. The water will then stay hot for the task that I was planning to do e.g shower, wash dishes. However, the next time I need water it will need to off/on again.
It would previously sometimes be ok for a day or two but now it's at the start of every hot water task.
Thanks for any help.

Check the status of your ACB (main PCB)
The display.
And any fault codes.

Mike,
Thanks for the speedy response. I have no idea what the ACB or PCB is or how I would check it?
Thanks

Hi ya,
Well have you the book?
If no
Then download one for free from Gledhill.
Then you will be familiar with your unit.
And ref any advice given to you on here.

Hi Abdi
This sounds like a sensor fault, almost certain. If you have on tools or any hands on DIY knowledge, contact your nearest Gledhill experienced engineer. With £120 to £200 ,this should be no problem to fix.

Re: Boilermate has to constantly be turned off/on to get hot water
I have no experience with the type of thing. To add to my description of the problem:
It looks as if the problem 'might' be with the Glow Worm boiler rather than the Boilermate 2000. When my hot water doesn't work the 'reset' light is lit on the Glow Worm Micron 40FF. If I turn off and on the Micron 40FF and wait a few minutes the hot water works. This gives me the impression that it is the Micron 40FF rather than the Boilermate.
I spoke to Gledhill Response for a quote. They said it was £354 fixed fee which included 1 year cover. However, it doesn't include the Micron 40FF. I'm reluctant to hand over £354 in advance for the engineer to say it's the Micron and therefore not covered.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to whether it's the Boilermate tripping the Micron or the other way around?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Abdi
Have you checked your hot water sensors on the PCB? Sounds like this problem, could be also your PCB him self. Take the front panel of and check on the diagnostic display on your PCB for “er” or “99” readings. Also check the green led’s on the PCB if and witch one is on.
Kind regards

Could be the thermostat on your Glowwarm is faulty. First check the temperature in your Boilermate ( display on the pcb, first reading) and if the Boiler pump is working. Also alternatively check for a independent Gledhill specialist in your aria, there are sum advertising on this forum, before spending over £300 for an Gledhill Response “ specialist”.
Kind regards

It's working ok at the min. I'll check the pcb again when it stops working to see if anything else is on the display.

Re: Boilermate has to constantly be turned off/on to get hot water
I have checked the system again. There is no hot water.
1) the reset light is lit on the Micron 40FF
2) the Boilermate has "on" and a flashing "."
3) there are no green lights.
Thanks.
