Hot Water Problems - Gledhill Boilermate 2000

I have been told that the reason we have no hot water is due to there being a problem with our main PCB, after having had the pump replaced (fortunately this particular item was covered by the service agreement on our system) - unfortunately the PCB is not covered. Is there any way to check that it is the PCB and is it a repair that should be carried out by a trained service engineer, or could it be done by a fairly technically proficient person? What is the likely cost of a repair (PCB plus fitting)?
