boilermate 2000 + baxi 100 HE boiler - shattered burners.
We have a Boilermate 2000 and a Baxi 100 HE Boiler. For some time now we have had ongoing problems with the boiler cutting out or failing to ignite, leaving the red light flashing on the boiler.
Our service engineer has replaced just about every part of the boiler, including the PCB, serveral burners and fan. The boiler has shattered a number of burners, leaving the heating engineer perplexed. The Baxi Engineer claims that the fault does not lie with the boiler.
Has anyone any ideas if there could be anything wrong with the Boilermate 2000 which would lead to this problem?
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Does anyone know if there is a Boilermate 2000 repair specialist in the Edinburgh/Lothians area of Scotland?

Re: boilermate 2000 + baxi 100 HE boiler - shattered burners.
Hi Greame
I can't help you with a Boilermate specialist, but I can tell you that the Boilermate 2000 cannot cause a problem with the Baxi boilers burner.
The Boilermate is simply a large hot water tank with a control board and some pumps. The control board simply sends electricity to the boiler (irrespective of what boiler it is) to tell the boiler to start because the boilermate is cold. It DOES NOT play any further part in the boilers operation, and definnately does not have anything to do with the burner sequence.
From memory, the Baxi HE boiler range have a burner surface that is made of a material that is very soft. If it fails, it is combustion related and Baxi shouold be able to trace the cause of problem.
Kind regards
