No Heating or Hot Water Electrmate2000 Empty No Heating or Hot Water Electrmate2000

Post  Sash Sun Jan 01, 2012 11:18 am

Hello,

As of saturday morning my Central Heating fuse tripped causing the Electramate 2000 (do not know if its the 9 & 12 model) to completely power down.

So from Sat morning I have had no hot water just tepid if that.

My central heating switch had tripped off which caused that the Electramate to power off, I
flipped it back on and the Electramate turned back on again but since
that I'm unable to get hot water.

I'm not very DIY savy but I have tried to go through the forums and
the instruction manual but my inexperience with these matters I cannot
completley say if I have a faulty part etc.

My ACB readings are

T1 - 28
Phe_T2 - 27
DHW_T3 - 25

I understand they are very low ....

I cant believe categorically the Electramate powering down and powering back on would cause part failure\s on the Electramate when i have not had a problem with it at all before that.

Any assistance would be gratefully recieved :-)

Thank you

Sash

Have you any green led's on the ACB lit up?
Page 31 of the manual section 3.4 have you done that?
After that has the boiler stat tripped?
Have you any errors when going through the ACB check?
There are none of these units in my area and thus I have never dealt with them.
Is the unit heating up?

No Heating or Hot Water Electrmate2000 Empty Fault Finding

Post  Sash Mon Jan 02, 2012 2:55 am

Hello Mike,

LED Lights on the Board that are lit are HL1 & HL2 .

Followed correctly the functional tests, switched off mains, added jumper 5 and switched back on again. It carried out all of its tests successfully. Switched mains back off and removed jumper 5 & turned back on again.

To my knowledge the overheat thermostat has not tripped, I cannot see it pushed out like the manual suggests.

Running the ACB check provides no errors ....

Currently the readings are T1-25
phe_T2 - 23
dhw_T3 - 22

Thank you in advance

So LED 1 & 2 are lit, suggesting it is heating?
Can you hear it heating?

No Heating or Hot Water Electrmate2000 Empty Fault Finding

Post  Sash Mon Jan 02, 2012 12:03 pm

Hello Mike,

Through the course of further investigation and checking wiring etc, the Electramate started working successfully again. I will be buying a replacment 25 a HRC fuse. We checked the pumps etc, all of it seemed to be heating correctly.

I increased the temp on the Danflos Thermostat and that kicked in the entire unit successfully, after some time for the hot water it was working sufficiently again.

I have been monitoring the reading since then and it seems ok.

I had a brief few minutes where the unit was very loud but i think that was more trapped air which did stop after the hot tap was started.

Thank you for taking an interest in my issue.
