Systemate III

My knowledge of boilers and heating systems is very limited but having gone through a number of posts in this forum I'm a million times better informed than I was. Thank you for providing this fantastic resource.

I'm hoping you can help with a query about my Systemate III. Last weekend, my neighbour inadvertently switched off my gas supply so my Maxol boiler wasn't igniting. The water storage system kept calling for heat for 4 days until I worked out why my boiler wasn't working. Since then I've been really aware of the noise the Systemate makes. It seems much nosier than it used to be - sort of constantly humming. I never noticed it before so I'm not sure if this has only started since the problem with the boiler.

Is it possible that by not having a boiler supply of heat for 4 days the water storage system has been damaged?
