If a rod stat is replaced does it have to be gledhill replacement?
Any advice on the following situation would be greatly appreciated....
A few months ago out pulsacoil 2000 overheated really badly causing it to steam and damage the door frame of the cupboard it was in. The header tank was also empty. So an engineer replaced the pump, as it was sticking. And replaced the off peak rod stat assuming it was faulty causing it to overheat. The header tank was also filled.
However, since then the off peak provides only a limited amount of hot water. Enough for two short showers in the morning but by the evening it is only tepid. We have been using the peak boost switch almost every day and have now got a large electricity bill.
could this be because the rod stat was not a gledhill and just a standard one? The new stat is set to max temp. Or does anyone have any other suggestions?
Also, if anyone knows of any experts in the sussex area contact details would be great.
Thanks
Hayley
