Isolating Heating System
Hi, i am currently renovating a bathroom, the client wants the radiator moving, on checking the boiler it's a Boilermate 2000, is it possible to isolate/suspend the heating system and alter the pipework, or does the system need draining down?

Re: Isolating Heating System
As the Boilermate 2000 is an open vented thermal storage System, you have to drain the lot, to do any changing on the heating pipe work. The filling is most likely (from the F&E Tank) pleased in the Loft with a 15mm filling pipe, needed to be off to stop refilling. Except ,of course, you have a pipe freezer, but i would not mess around with this freezer thing on those jobs and play save with a drain down.Heathg wrote:Hi, i am currently renovating a bathroom, the client wants the radiator moving, on checking the boiler it's a Boilermate 2000, is it possible to isolate/suspend the heating system and alter the pipework, or does the system need draining down?

That's a lot of time and potential problems, but if it can't be suspended I suppose there is other options, thanks for the advice

Re: Isolating Heating System
And be careful if removing a radiator and fitting a tall towel rail.
If the BM 2000 is on the same floor / level
Read the manual
It will give you the measurement.

Ok, what's the measurement for? Distance from boiler, towel rail output?

Sorry can not remember.
Look in the manual.
Or down load one from Gledhill for free.
It is ref the height of the rad or towel rail in relation to the header tank.
