Boiler on max? Empty Boiler on max?

Post  Boilerq Sat Feb 15, 2014 6:35 am

Hi,

I have a A Class OV. I would be grateful if someone could tell me what setting I should have my boiler on in the kitchen - there is a dial from 1 - 6. I have read that the boiler should be on its max temperature so have turned this up to 6.

Is this correct?? If anyone could provide a very basic explanation why it is better to have it on the max setting I would be grateful

I know next to nothing about boilers as you can probably tell but want to make sure I am on the most efficient setting.

Many Thanks in advance.

You have a thermal store.
It controls the boiler, it is looking for a certain temperature.
So put your boiler anything less than max.
And the store will never be satisfied.
Conclusion;
Will cost you more!
I laugh now when I call at a dwelling and they have turned their boiler down.
The customer does not laugh though when they realise they are spending more.

Thanks
